Sports Grant

At Little Bollington, we recognise the contribution of PE to the health and well-being of the children. We believe that an innovative, varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all our children.

Our Primary School Sport’s Funding will enable us to continue and extend our provision through employing additional sports professionals, entering into more competitive sports competitions and training our staff to deliver in-house quality PE sessions.

This year 2024-25, Little Bollington CE Primary will receive £16,640

Purpose of the funding

Schools will have to spend the sport funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this.

To enhance our PE and Sport Provision we will use the money in the following way:

• Hiring specialist PE teachers or qualified sports coaches to provide high quality after school club provision.
• Continued membership of the Warrington School Sports Partnership (Wassp) to allow access to professional development for teachers, support for school from subject experts and access to a full range of competitions for all children.
• Sports Crew lunchtime clubs - equipment for this to continue.
• Paying for professional development opportunities in PE/sport.
• Providing cover to release teachers for professional development in PE/sport.
• Running and attending sport competitions to increase participation, with Warrington Sports Partnership.
• Buying quality assured professional development material for PE/sport provision and planning for all staff.
• Transport costs to events.
• Enhance the opportunities and develop the range of activities offered by providing sports activity days and a variety of activities for both key stages across the school day.
• Enhance the playground and facilities available to the children at break and lunchtime, by making changes to the outdoor provision, supporting our desire for 60minutes of physical activity each day.
